%X This article investigates the representation of Negro River morphology near to Manaus city (Brazil) using bathymetric data acquired by an acoustic Doppler device with a GPS system in a 25 km2 of water surface area. Geostatistical analysis methods were used to produce bathymetric maps in different sampling designs. The results in this study area indicated a average depth of 23.19 meters and amplitude up to 51.64 meters for the different sampling designs. Cross-validation was performed using Root mean square error (RMSE) to analyze the influence of sampling design in the depths estimative. Data evaluated with spacing profiles ranging from 100 to 500 meters showed RMSE varying from 1.01 to 2.21 meters. These results indicate that the methodology used in this article can be an alternative in collection and processing bathymetric data for Amazon large rivers.
